Rare WWII 1944 Vintage Walt Disney United States Treasury War Bond
This is a very hard to find, if not rare, original WWII 1944 Walt Disney-themed United States Treasury war bond. These were usually bought for kids during the war. It is signed " Walt Disney " on the bottom left and printed U. Government Printing Office 1944 on the bottom right. The bond measures 8" x 10" and reads United States Treasury War Finance Committee - This is to certify that Graham S.
Wentz is the owner of a war bond, thereby becoming an investor in this country's fight for human liberty and a contributor in a world's struggle to make life free and forever peaceful for all men. This bond presented by Dad - 21st Day of December 1945. It shows lots of the Disney characters around the border such as Mickey Mouse, Pinocchio, Donald Duck, Porky Pig, Bambi, José Carioca, Goofy, Pluto, Thumper, and the 7 Dwarfs. Condition is very nice and displayable but there is a little bit of discoloration and a few minor stains.
There is a small tear on the top edge, bottom left edge, and towards bottom right corner. These are not too serious and can easily be repaired. If you are a WWII collector or Disney collector, don't pass this up as they are very hard to find. Please ask if you have any questions.
